Adoption Process

We do not utilize a waitlist before puppies are born. Instead, you can subscribe to our Newsletter! Everyone subscribed to the Newsletter will get all the updates about available puppies.

STEPS TO GET A BERNEDOODLE FROM US:

1. GET TO KNOW US

Look through our website to become familiar with our program. Click HERE for the FAQ Page!

2. SUBSCRIBE TO THE NEWSLETTER

Submit your email below to subscribe to the Newsletter. Typing your email and then clicking the SUBSCRIBE button immediately gets you signed up. From then on you will be included in all the updates we send out about available puppies! You will continue getting emails when we have updates until you unsubscribe. (Please note- no email will be sent to you confirming you have subscribed. You are automatically added when you submit your email address, and the first email that you get from us will be the next time we have puppies available after you have subscribed.)

3. PLAN AHEAD

Check the “Planned Litters” page of the website so that you know what we have coming up, and to see if there are particular planned litters you are interested in. We post updates (like if mamma has come into heat, if pregnancy has been confirmed, etc.) about each planned litter on that page. Keep the dates for the litters you like in mind, and continue to check back for updates as those dates get closer.

4. WATCH PUPPIES GROW

Follow us on Instagram! @coloradofamilydoodles We are active in Instagram stories with pictures and videos as puppies grow. If you turn on notifications for our account, you won’t miss anything! (You do this by going to our profile in Instagram, clicking the bell symbol in the top right corner, and then clicking on the slider for each type of post)

You can also keep tabs on your favorite litters by checking the “Current Litters” page of the website. Once puppies are born, we post individual puppy pictures about every 2 weeks on that page.

5. Reserve your spot on a litter Pick List

When puppies are about 5 weeks old, the Pick List for the litter will open up. At that time, an email blast will be sent to everyone subscribed to the Newsletter with all the important info about the litter. If you are interested in getting a puppy from that specific litter, instructions to submit an application will be included in the email.

We accept applications for a litter for about 48hrs after the email blast is sent. After that time, we review all the applications and begin assigning each person a spot on the Pick List! There is no deposit required to join a Pick List. Your pick spot is assigned based primarily on when you subscribed to the Newsletter. So the longer you have been subscribed, the higher pick spot you will be given. However, sometimes even newly subscribed people are offered a place on the Pick List! It all depends on the applications we receive. If we get more applications than puppies available, extra people will be added to a backup list for that litter in case of any changes. We reserve the right to decline any application for any reason.

6. Pick Your Puppy

Pick Day is the day that you get to select your puppy! A time will be scheduled for us to video chat (Facetime or Google Meet) for you to make your pick. Puppies are selected in order of the Pick List spots. Pick Day is always scheduled for after puppies have their first vet exams and vaccinations, which occurs at around 7 weeks old.

7. get your home ready

Once you have been officially given a pick spot, you can start getting ready for your new furry family member! Leading up to Go-Home Day we will send you lots of information and helpful tips about preparing yourself and your home for your new puppy.

8. Bring Your Puppy Home

At 8 weeks old puppies are ready to go home and join your family!

Please note- if you already have a pup from us and are looking to add a second, please reach out to me directly asap if you see a litter born/puppy that you are interested in. Previous families get priority as long as they contact me before the Pick List is opened to Newsletter subscribers.
